Activision has unwrapped the release date of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, it will arrive on October 25th. It is worth noting that the game will launch on Xbox Game Pass on day one. Black Ops 6, developed by Treyarch and Raven Software, features a multiplayer mode with 16 maps at launch. It further comes with a new campaign as well as a new zombie experience.Â
Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Campaign details
The main campaign, created by Raven Software, includes spy missions and government conspiracies that keep players hooked to the game. Let’s not forget that it is set after Black Ops Cold War and includes flashbacks to Black Ops 2.Â
The spy action thriller is set in the early 90s during the end of the Cold War and the rise of the US as a single superpower. Black Ops 6 is set across four regions the US, Southern Europe, the Russian Tundra, and the Middle Eastern desert.
The game further includes 90s gadgets and equipment and some iconic characters Frank Woods and Russell Adler which are part of the main campaign. Besides, there’s an abandoned manor that has a Safehouse which formerly served as a KGB black site. The remote manor is the central base of operations between each Campaign mission.
Multiplayer experience in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6
Talking of the Black Ops 6 multiplayer experience, there are a total of 16 new maps at launch that will host which will host 2v2 or 6v6 players. The multiplayer experience includes a new omnimovement feature that lets players have additional motion controls within the game.
Simply put, players can now slide, sprint, and dive in any direction. Plus, there’s the ability to rotate when players are prone. Activision aims to add more maps to the games and other experiences after its release later this year.Â
Black Ops 6 also brings back the Round-Based Zombies mode where players can take on the undead. Activision says that there’ll be two new maps at launch and an impressive number of secrets to discover.
Phil Spencer who appeared on the livestream said that Call of Duty will no longer feature platform-eclusive content like in the past. Not to forget, Microsoft has already confirmed that Black Ops 6 will launch on day one on Xbox Game Pass without any additional Game Pass tier requirement. It will be available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, and PC on October 25th.
