Microsoft Edge on Android gains more extensions with ability to install simultaneously

Microsoft is increasing the number of extensions available for Edge on Android. While previously limited to just three, the company is adding four more in the Canary version. But that’s not all! Edge now allows installing these extensions simultaneously, saving you time. You don’t need to wait for one extension installation to finish before initiating another.

After switching to the Blink/Chromium engine, Microsoft Edge supported installing extensions from the Chrome Web Store on desktops. However, the Chromium-based Chrome doesn’t support extensions on Android.

Microsoft remained silent on this for some time, but then suddenly added extension support to Android, initially offering three extensions: Ublock Origin, Global Speed, and Dark Reader.

How to Enable and Install Multiple Extensions Simultaneously in Microsoft Edge on Android

1. Launch Microsoft Edge.
2. Visit edge://flags in the address bar.
3. Find and enable “Android Extension v2.”
4. Restart the Edge browser.
5. Click on the menu and select “Extensions.”
6. You’ll notice four new extensions here.
7. Click “Get” on each extension to install them.
8. These four extensions will be installed simultaneously.

• Immersive Translate: This appears to be a new extension without many reviews, so use it with caution.
• Unhook: This extension improves the YouTube experience by removing recommendations.
• Cookie Editor & I Don’t Care About Cookies: Both of these extensions focus on managing cookies within Edge.

Note: Microsoft Edge itself comes with a built-in translation feature on all platforms, including Android.

Apart from this, Microsoft Edge will no longer support CPUs that lack SSE3 and Microsoft is testing a new Phone plugin to improve copilot Android Integration with Edge.
